Guidelines for Successful Product Development

What is Design Thinking?

Design thinking is a problem-solving process with a user-centered approach. This process aims to first deeply understand the problem, imagine different solutions, and then implement the most effective one.

Design Thinking Consists of Five Main Phases:

1. Empathy : Have deep communication with users to understand their needs and challenges.

2. Problem Definition : Define a clear and actionable problem statement based on the information you have gathered.

3. Idea Generation : Come up with a wide range of different solutions./span>

4. Prototype : Bring concrete solutions to life and create small-scale, testable models.

5. Testing : Test your prototype with real users, collect feedback, and improve.

Difference Between Design Thinking and PDCA

Design thinking and PDCA are two different approaches used in problem solving and project progress. By understanding the characteristics and purpose of each, you will be able to use them in appropriate situations.

Design Thinking

· Purpose : To create innovative solutions and new value, focusing on user needs and challenges.

· Process : Consists of 5 stages: Empathy, Definition, Ideation, Prototype, and Test.

· Characteristics : Think from the user’s perspective and explore the essence of the problem. Explore various solutions and find the optimal solution through trial and error.

PDCA

· Purpose : To aim for continuous improvement and quality improvement.

· Process : Consists of four stages: Plan, Do, Check, and Act.

· Characteristics : Formulate a hypothesis from your own perspective, execute based on the hypothesis, and systematically improve processes and operations based on quantitative data and indicators. It has strengths in regular operations and repetitive activities.

How to Incorporate Design Thinking in Project Execution at VeBuIn

IT Means

Implementing an IT system is only a means, not an end. No matter how advanced the technology is, it is meaningless if it cannot solve the customer’s problems. And if you don’t understand the problem, you can’t solve it. For this reason, the first step in any project is to empathize with the customer’s concerns and issues.

Visiting Sites and Promoting Business Understanding

It is difficult to obtain “empathy” from document-based or web conferences. For this reason, we place great importance on on-site and on-site communication. seeing is believing. This is to promote understanding, including matters that are difficult to verbalize.

Propose Appropriate Solutions

After sharing a thorough awareness of the issue and considering solutions from multiple angles, we will strive to propose the optimal method. No matter how advanced the technology is, if you introduce an over-spec system, it will significantly reduce your ROI. We will propose optimal solutions to solve problems, such as using Excel for tasks that can only be processed using Excel.
